It is in everyones best interest to Paraglide safely. Please read the following information and encourage all fellow pilots to fly as safely as possible. Remember, if you see someone doing something that jeopardises safety, it is your responsibility to bring it to their attention.

Minimum Equipment
The Minimum Equipment for flight is
- Helmet
- Reserve Parachute
- Paragliding Shoes e.g. Hanwag, Crissipi ..etc
- Radio set to our local frequency
Consideration should be given to the following
- Hook Knife
- Compass
- Adequate Water
- Food
- Fly with a friend
- Have seen the landing areas - some are quite challenging ( Site Guide)
- Consider taking a rubbish bag up with you. On your last flight down you may be able to bring down left behind water bottles.
Right Of Way
It can get crowded at Shek-O and Ma On Shan on a good day in the weekend. The section includes a few rules to keep in mind for everyone's Safety
Anti-collision rules: These are the law
1. When approaching another aircraft (paraglider) head-on, break right. If this is impractical or unsafe because you are too near the ridge, allow the other pilot only to break: if you should go left while he goes right, you are likely to collide.
2. When approaching another aircraft (paraglider) on a converging course, the one on the right has the right of way (put another way, "on your right, is in the right.")
3. Give way to pilots below you (they have less room to manoeuvre and may not be able to see you).
4. When overtaking while ridge-soaring, always pass between the other pilot and the hill. The other pilot is most likely to decide to turn away from the hill, so this reduces the risk of collision. The other pilot will also not feel trapped.
5. When in thermals always circle in the same direction as pilots who have entered the pilot before you. It's also preferable if the other pilots in the thermal have had a chance before you enter of noticing your presence and the likelyhoood of your coming to dance with them.
6. No flying in clouds.
7. No matter what has been said above: it is the duty of every pilot to take any and every action necessary to avoid a collision. In other words, even if it is your right of way, you are expected to take action if the alternative is a collision.
